"Bach über Bach" = "Bach on Bach": The Cool International Bach Project About the Thomas Cantor

"Bach on Bach" has been around since 2011, and it has become a massive cross-media project about the life, work and music of Johann Sebastian Bach. Books, but above all websites, a Bach coloring book, a Bach biography for children, music, 20 videos on the subject of Bach cities and Bach places, and 1,089 Bach music videos are aimed at two groups: first, of course, Bach fans. But much more important for us is that it also addresses children, young people, parents and teachers and wants to serve as a support to introduce young people to classical music as well, besides their enthusiasm of course for contemporary music.

That's what I had imagined and hoped for. And who am "I"? Click below and you will get a first impression. There you will find a bit about me, Renate Bach. I own the Renate Bach publishing house "Bach 4 You". And you will also find information about my husband, Peter Bach Jr., the author of the project "Bach on Bach" on my publishing website. Together we have fun with our common "Bach Mission".

Back to the topic. So if you came here directly via Google, then I now very much wish that not only this page inspires you, but perhaps soon the whole project "Bach on Bach". And like there everywhere, there is also here and now a small "instruction manual", how you can find everything around Bach even better. On this page I introduce you to "Bach on Bach" and its German sister-website "Bach über Bach", together with about 1,000 pages very briefly by means of a few thematic examples. Now, the publisher and the author wish you a lot of fun with Bach in this "Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Mission".

The Bach Genealogy, Bach Cities, Bach Locations, Bach Monuments, Eight Bach Short Biographies and Many Subjects More

The picture at the top of this page (... the Bach Band in Rochester, Minnesota, USA): Only since 2018 it is known to the German Bach fan community that there is still a big branch of the musician family Bach in the USA. Before that, the descendants of Veit Bach in Wechmar, the forefather of the musical family, had no contact with Germany. Neither to any Bach institutions, nor to the German part of the family. But since Helga Brück, Bach researcher and Bach author from Erfurt, Thuringia, Germany who unfortunately died much too early in 2013, had found out this distant relationship with much commitment, the Bach genealogy had to be rewritten. Are you now more interested? Then use this link here to get to the right place at "Bach on Bach".

Bach Cities and Bach Places

Are there now seven or nine or even a whole 33 Bach cities and Bach places? Well, it really depends. Whether you want to make a short excursion to the subject of Bach, whether you associate it with the Bach family of musicians, or whether you really venture absolutely deeply into this topic. If you like to get an overview first, "Bach on Bach" is really good and especially entertaining.

The first place, where music-making members of the Bach Family of Musicians were living and working: Wechmar in Thuringia, Germany. After the Bach family had become the Bach family of musicians.

All Bach Monuments on Earth

You probably know the impressive Bach Monument in Leipzig? Next to the Thomaskirche (St. Thomas Church). But already the one in Eisenach ...do you know this one too?  Others are actually then only known to fans who love Bach very much and deal with his life or have once dealt with it. However, the fact that there are far more than 30 Bach monuments, that is, tributes to the superstar from Thuringia, Germany hardly anyone is aware. These tributes begin in the USA and end on the other side of the world, that is in Shanghai in China. If you are now particularly interested in this topic, you will find much more exciting information via the button here ... and also many, many pictures of the Bach monuments and Bach memorials.

Bach Choirs, Bach Orchestras, Bach Societies

In fact, there are 222 institutions on earth that have "given" their name to the composer. Whether any other super-composer can "keep up"? Here you will find them, all listed, in Germany, in the USA and in Great Britain. There are the most Bach choirs, Bach orchestras and also Bach associations. But there are also others in many more countries around the world. Here you can find much more information.

Veit Bach: The Genealogie of the Bachs

A US genealogy portal spreads the view that Veit Bach was born in Papua New Guinea, which of course is nonsense. However, for today's Bach genealogists, Veit Bach is ... and also for the few in the last 270 years ... a real "hot potato". Keywords are Ungern, Hungary, Bratislava, Korabinsky and even Gräfenroda in Thuringia. Here you'll find tons of information.

The Music of Johann Sebastian Bach

Peter Bach Jr., author of the project "Bach on Bach" is firmly convinced: The path to Bach's immortal music can only lead through the most catchy, popular and perforated pieces of his complete works. "Any" work by Bach spoils the fun ultra-fast and one turns away from Bach's music. This is especially true for children and teenagers. It is therefore necessary to be interested in the particularly well-known pieces. And the author has determined them objectively. Which 33 works came out is not based on his own enthusiasm, but on the clicks on the internet portals YouTube and Google. This link will take you directly to these 33 pieces of Bach.

All Bach Postage Stamps on Earth

Over the course of 70 years, more than 160 Bach stamps have been issued worldwide. And new ones are added every year. To be more precise, there are around 160 "stickers" that have something to do with Johann Sebastian Bach or the musical family, at least in the broadest sense. With "Bach on Bach" you can "experience" them all, mostly in a really exciting enlargement: They are all small works of art. Well ... most of them, anyway. By the way, we Bachs in Flein are the only ones on the planet who have also collected them completely. So not only, published as a scan.

All Tributes, Quotes and Sayings Related to Johann Sebastian Bach

The 66 most beautiful quotes about and tributes to Johann Sebastian Bach are collected on several pages of the portal "Bach on Bach". Really many and exciting personalities worldwide have expressed themselves enthusiastically about the Thomas Cantor and his music in around 270 years. Here you can quickly access these Bach quotes and Bach tributes.

Plus, "music calendars and more music calendars". All of these 3 x 33 calendars are of course great musician gifts and also great music gifts. Which is not the same thing.

Two music gifts for children: On the left, it's a music calendar for the littler children, on the right side it's a Bach T-shirt, also for the smaller of Bach fans among the children.
